“We plan to proceed with a civil damage claim for suspects who continue to commit criminal acts even though they were convicted after a criminal complaint.  We will take more stringent measures to ensure that malicious actors face strong legal penalties, and there will be no consensus or prejudice in this process.”

It is a part of the position statement that Big Hit Entertainment posted on the official social network service (SNS) account on the 31st of last month.  Big Hit recently sued the criminals for ‘bad guys’ who continuously made malicious comments to the singer, BTS.  Big Hit regularly responds to defamation, insults, false facts, and sexual harassment comments against BTS.

According to Big Hit, the list of respondents includes those who have been convicted of the same charges and have been sentenced to fines or are currently being investigated.  Defamation or insults are crimes that can be sentenced to the maximum imprisonment under the Criminal Law, but in most cases, fines ranging from as little as 500,000 won to as many as 2 million won are made in courts.  This is why Big Hit pulled out a card called “Civil Damage Claims”.
